Its coastline is rocky and steep, rising almost vertically from the sea to a great height, forming a small bay to the west at its base, separated by an isthmus from another small bay to the east. Sounion is well-known both for its significant geographical position and for the ruins of the ancient Temple of Poseidon located there. There, you will find the magnificent Temple of Poseidon. Driving along the coastal road <strong>&#8220;Poseidonos&#8221;<\/strong>, one of the most beautiful coastal routes in Greece, you will pass through the scenic areas of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. This is an ideal place to enjoy the stunning views of the Saronic Gulf..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The panoramic view across the Aegean Sea is breathtaking, and at the top of the cliff stands an exceptional monument, the temple of the god Poseidon. Sounion is believed to have been the home of Poseidon, the god of the sea. Many legends and myths intertwine with reality here!
